About Vidya Jyothi Residential Hostels 

VIDYA JYOTHI HIGH SCHOOL

It is a Minority Education Institution run by the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD Societas Verbi Divini) Who serve millions of people, irrespective of their nationality, colour, religion, caste, etc., in more than 70 countries throughout the world. The SVD founded by Saint Arnold Janssen at Steyl, Holland, in 1875 strives to extend Jesus Christ's message of Peace and Joy, Justice and Righteousness (Equality) to all those Whom the SVDs come in contact with. Keeping this in mind Vidya Jyothi High School aims at Academic Excellence, without sacrificing the uniqueness of every child under its care; development of skills; character formation based on the love of God and love of neighbor, cultivation of scientific temper and love for nature, envisioning a World citizenship, through a Child Centered Education.

Vidya Jyothi High School and Hostels were started on 12th June 1988 by the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD Southern Indian Province). The Founder was Rev. Fr. Paul Vattarthara SVD and Co-Founder was Rev.Fr.Casmir D'Souza SVD. The Classes were shifted to the newly built structure in August 1989. The new hostel building was inaugurated in December 1993. Fr. Santhuraj SVD took over as HM & Correspondent in June 1995 and continued his work up to May 1998. Fr. Casmir D'Douza SVD succeeded him from June 1998 to May 2003. It was during his time in June 2002 English Medium Section was started to privide opportunity for English Education to the Students of this area. Fr. Joe Faustin was HM & Correspondent from June 2003 to May 2006. Fr. Thomas K J SVD succeeded him from June 2006 to May 2009. Fr. Jayaraj, Fr. Soosai and Fr Robert were the Headmasters for the next three years respectively. From the academic year 2011-12 Vidya Jyothi became completely English Medium High School.
